LEO is a consulting company specializing in the growing technology and information needs of libraries, schools, and other educational institutions. Our consultants are well-versed in the issues which impact schools and libraries as they purchase hardware and software, and train both staff and young people in technologies. We're also skilled in developing world wide web presentations, from informational sites to online learning experiences.
Linda W. Braun is LEO's Project Management and Consulting Coordinator. Linda has provided project management and consulting services to public libraries and schools on a variety of topics and she has experience in curriculum and website development. Linda has a Masters of Science Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College and a Masters of Education with a specialization in Technology in Education from Lesley University. Linda is a Professor of Practice at Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Formerly she taught for Lesley University, Graduate School of Education.
In 2008, 2009, and 2010 Linda received the WISE Excellence in Online Teaching Award. Linda is a Past President of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) a Division of the American Library Association (ALA) and from 2006 - 2009 served as the first Blog Manager for YALSA.
Linda W. Braun's publications include Risky Business: Taking and Managing Risks in Library Services for Teens, Teens.Library Developing Internet Services for Young Adults and Technically Involved: Technology-Based Youth Participation Activities for Your Library. (Each published by the American Library Association.) Books published by Neal-Schuman include Introducing the Internet to Young Learners: Ready-To-Go Activities And Lesson Plans, The Browsable Classroom: An Introduction to E-Learning For Librarians, and Hooking Teens with the Net. Her book, Teens, Technology, and Literacy: Or Why Bad Grammar Isn't Always Bad, was published by Libraries Unlimited in December 2006. Information Today published Listen Up: Podcasting for Schools and Libraries, by Linda, in the summer of 2007. Linda has also authored articles for journals including netConnect, Library Journal, and School Library Journal. She writes the Unbound Word column for VOYA
